The Maritime Jazz Festival not only boasts one of the most comprehensive artist billing in the UK it's location also offers excellent opportunity to experience other entertainment and history of the area.

When it comes to making a mini holiday of the jazz festival then there is so much to see and do.  The leisure resort itself has an Odeon multi cinema, restaurants, Dickens World, an outlet shopping centre and St Mary's Island Quays with pub.  Accross the road is the Historic Dockyard where Nelson was based, over the water is Upnor Castle, along Dock Road is the Nepolionic Fort & Tunnels of Fort Amherst, off dock road is the Royal Engineer's Museum, and in Rochester is a Norman Castle, the UK's second oldest Cathedral and the historic High Street with museum's, tea rooms and city wall.
